This statue is a replica of the statue of Saint Francis of Assisi located outside of the Basilica of Our Lady of San Juan del Valle. This one of a kind statue originated from an idea provided by the Rector of the Basilica, Father Jorge Gomez. The child included as part of this statue is of a child who faithfully attends Mass at the Basilica. At his young age, this child is a "Faithful Servant of God." He loves to attend Mass, pray to God, and accompany the priests as they walk down the aisle. He watches the people as they worship God and enjoys the experience of Mass. He loves animals just as Saint Frances himself did.
