Practicing what you preached, you founded the monastic tradition of the west by joining prayer to labor for God- both liturgical and private prayer. Help all religious to follow their rule and be true to their vocation. May they labor and pray for the world to the greater glory of God. God our Father. You made Saint Benedict an outstanding guide to teach men how to live in your service. Grant that by preferring your love to everything else, we may walk in the way of your commandments. We ask this through Christ Our Lord. Amen.
• Santisimo confesor del senor, Padre y jefe de los monjes, intereceded por nuestra santidad, por nuestra salud de alma, cuerpo y mente. Destierra de nuestra vida, de nuestra casa, las asechanzas del maligno espiritu. Libranos de funestas herejias, de malas lenguas y hechicerias, pidele al Senor, reedie nuestras necesidades espirituales y corporales. Pidele tambien por el progreso de la Santa Iglesia Catolica; y porque mi alma no muera en pecado mortal, para que asi confiado en tu poderosa interecsion, pueda algun dia en el cielo, cantar las eternas alabanzas.
